What can separate me from the love of making a beautiful dress? Not cooking, not baking, not travel, not friends, not family? (maybe writing, or books lol?)
It always comes back to this. To giving life to the myriad of designs dancing around in my head. And so maybe the process changes, as I play more administrative roles, and do less of production. And as the business grows, I find that the most beautiful part is in not being a one-man army. It’s in being surrounded by people who understand the vision, and are willing to run with me to achieve it.
Today, I look back at the subtle shift over the past 1 year, and the growing conviction to teach more people to do exceedingly greater than I ever could. To show them that where I am is just their starting point. And so I’m pouring myself out.
When I read INEC Nigeria‘s decision to postpone today’s elections, two things crossed my mind. One, it takes immense courage to take a look at a project, especially one involving others, and make the judgment call to suspend/postpone. The feelings of inadequacy, the perception of failure, or even irresponsibility… But sometimes, the only way to move forward, is to take a step back. I just wish that we’d learn to make that call early enough, rather than let ego and pride blind us to the reality of the warning signs.
Two, preparation. A lot of times, we’re too focused on how we perceive the end point to look like, that we forget to pay attention to the process, the journey of getting there. And so we arrive at the threshold of the set moment ill-prepared for the reality of execution. Of course, we need to then make the call between failing and looking like a failure (and taking the chance to learn from past mistakes and do it better), a decision that tells us, whether the journey has been an ego trip, or a determination to make a difference.

She teaches creative and trade skills in CriArt Skill Academy, working with neurodivergent children (with particular attention to autism, dyslexia and ADHD) to show them how their natural talents and tendencies can be an advantage inside and outside of the classroom and school curriculum. Utilising games and play as tools, as well as drawing from her own personal experience as a designer, chef and writer she helps them transfer the skills from the creative arts into school subjects and real life.
She writes extensively, sharing her thoughts in books, articles and through her various enterprises as creative stories and non-fiction think-pieces available in Books By Hadassah.
An International Youth Council member and former Global Youth Ambassador, she sits on the boards of several youth-led organisations in an advisory capacity; and continues to work with others to help develop children and young adults to create a life of impact.
At the very core of her being, Hadassah keeps chasing after The One who keeps her balanced and finds the ultimate fulfilment in her fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
