Sphere of Influence

Sphere of Influence

Whether we like it or not; pay attention to it or not; there’s this group of people around us who always watch out for everything we do. They listen attentively to whatever we have to say and more often than not, imitate what we do. The typical human has a desire to “belong” and so at the very least, wants to be like somebody.

Having a sphere of influence isn’t wrong. What you do with it is the point. You see, you’re sharing your goals, practices, habits etc. But you aren’t sharing your faith. You aren’t sharing your peace. You aren’t sharing the life you have. So what’s the point of your influence?

Not everybody can go to the ends of the earth to preach the gospel, yes. But what have you done about the despairing neighbour right at your doorstep? How have you encouraged that cousin that looks up to you to make the right choice? How have you shown your colleagues that you are different? It’s not always about the sermons we preach or carrying your Bible out into the streets. The most important evangelism that you can ever do as a Christian is to show off the beauty of your relationship with Christ.

So, build your network. Expand your limits. Grow in every ramification. Just remember, that even though it is good to share skills, improve your environment, develop yourself etc. The first and foremost reason you have a sphere of influence is so that you can share Christ.

Don’t ever forget that!
